Ocean Fest Youth Championships Report

Updated: Oct 20, 2024

The annual South West England Beach Soccer Championships was a resounding success in conjunction with our partners at Goldcoast Oceanfest Music & Beach Sports Festival.

The event attended by over 800 children participating in three days of thrilling competition on the golden sands of Croyde Bay in North Devon provided a weekend of beach soccer entertainment with goals galore.

Day One: Schools Championships

The first day of the event saw school children from years 5 & 6, both boys and girls, compete fiercely for the championship title.

Woolacombe emerged victorious, securing their third consecutive championship title. The event, funded by the Premier League and in conjunction with Exeter City Football Club, was a huge success with over 200 school children participating.

Day Two and Three: Club Championships

The following two days witnessed both local and touring clubs vying for the regional South West championships.

Over 600 children took part in these competitions. The winners were as follows:

  • Tamerton clinched the U8 Cup.

  • Stoke Hill won the U9 Championship title, making it back-to-back titles following their cup win last year.

  • South Molton were the victorious cup winners in the U11 event.

  • Exeter City Academy were the championship winners in the U12 event.

  • Woolacombe won its first beach soccer club cup in the U14 event, following its success in previous years in the schools tournaments.
